  INCOME PROTECTION

Income Protection policies protect your mortgage throughout the whole term, by providing accident and sickness cover, they do not normally provide unemployment cover. (Also referred to as PHI, permanent health insurance).

INCOME PROTECTION QUOTE

Benefits are guaranteed every month until you are fit enough to go back to work or until the plan ends (for example at your retirement age, or the end of your mortgage term).

The income you receive each month is paid tax free. You can choose the level of Income Protection (PHI)benefit you want to receive each month based on your current earnings (usually up to a maximum of 60% of gross earnings). This type of cover is not just to cover your mortgage payments. You decide how soon you would like the payments to start if you were unable to work. A shorter period makes the premiums more expensive.

Benefits can be linked to the retail prices index, cover can also be provided for house persons.

The occupation of the person taking out the plan makes a big difference to the premiums. If an occupation is deemed too hazardous the cover will not be offered by the Insurance Company.

This can be a very useful plan for self-employed people who have no employer to pay them sick pay.

Income protection insurance provides peace of mind and we at Mortgagemap through our association with Grosvenor Insurance can offer you the highest quality cover for the lowest possible premium. They will search all the major UK Insurance companies on your behalf.
