The trick is when applying for a mortgage with Bad Credit is not to go round the all the lenders to ask for a mortgage or remortgage and hope one will say yes.
Every time you apply the mortgage lender will do a credit search, this leaves a "footprint" on your credit history. The more searches you have in a short period the less likley it is that they will want to give you a loan as it looks bad on your credit score.
You need to be selective, talk to a mortgage broker who can save you time wasted on pointless applications. The broker will make sure you are more targeted in your approach and will only allow a credit search to be done when the case has already been discussed with a sympathetic lender.
If you wish to learn more about credit scoring and credit history you will find pages on these subjects by using the links down the side of the page on the Bad Credit Mortgage section.
There are also pages on the Mortgagemap website about Equifax and Experian, who are the two main companies used by most UK mortgage lenders to obtain details of your credit history. If you have been turned down for a loan or mortgage you should read these sections.
